Solid Waste Landfill

The base of a landfill is where regulation prescribes its strictest composite barrier: a textured geomembrane (for slope friction), a GCL beneath it as the secondary barrier, a drainage geocomposite above collecting leachate, and a geotextile protecting that from clogging. A puncture in one layer does not end the system — redundancy is the design itself.
